PNP weekly draw outcomes are out for three Canadian provinces, including British Columbia, Prince Edward Island, and Manitoba. The three provinces recently issued nominations last week for the Provincial Nominee Program.
The Provincial Nominee Program enables the provincial governments to choose economic class candidates. They select candidates who are most appropriate for a province’s economy and send them an Expression of Interest for a provincial nomination application. When a candidate receives a provincial nomination, it further enhances their Permanent Residence applications.
If a province issues an Expression of Interest, the candidate must proceed to apply for a nomination. Furthermore, they will have to make the fee payment and submit the essential documents to the province separately. This includes fee payment to IRCC and for Express Entry or PR application.
Candidates also have the choice to apply to a PNP program independently. This process is called the Base Nomination. The provincial government can also select candidates through the Express Entry pool, and this process is known as Enhanced Nomination. Express Entry candidates tend to obtain 600 extra points if they receive a provincial nomination. These additional points are added to the Comprehensive Ranking System.
PNP weekly draw outcomes are out for three Canadian provinces – January 27 to February 2
British Columbia
British Columbia conducted five PNP targeted draws under the British Columbia PNP streams: Skilled Workers and International Graduates. The draw occurred on January 30 and issued ITAs to more than 194 candidates in particular provinces. 89 candidates received the maximum ITAs in Tech occupations. The minimum score cut-off for these candidates was 103.
The province also sent invitations to 29 candidates with a minimum score of 60.
- Childcare – 49 ITAs
- Healthcare – 27 ITAs
- Veterinary Care – Below five ITAs
Manitoba
Manitoba issued invitations to 117 letters of advice for the affected individuals in Ukraine. Ukraine citizens who could fulfill the Manitoba PNP’s Skilled Worker requirements in the Manitoba stream were chosen. In addition, these candidates must demonstrate a close bond with the province. This could be through work experience, family, study experience, or community links.
The province further revealed that it is presently working on the MPNP application backlog. It also states that the processing period might surpass six months. Moreover, if they need any more details, the province will reach out to the candidates via the email or phone number available on the candidate’s application.
PNP weekly draw outcomes are out – Prince Edward Island
Prince Edward Island issued 78 letters of interest on February 1 to those in the PEI Provincial Nominee Program’s Labor and Express Entry Stream. This applies to candidates working in the healthcare, construction, agriculture, food processing, manufacturing, and early childhood education sectors. This turned out to be the second draw of the PEI PNP in 2024.
PEI considers candidates based on different characteristics, such as:
- English or French language proficiency;
- Field of education, education level, and the completion place.
- Skill level and work experience.
- Strategic priorities, including qualities that would help PEI’s labor market immediately;
- Additional elements that could affect employment chances include but are not restricted to, having an employment offer in PEI or recent Canadian work experience.
