PNP weekly immigration results for four Canadian provinces

PNP weekly immigration results for four Canadian provinces were recently published. The provinces included British Columbia, New Brunswick, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan. The Provincial Nominee Program draw occurred between April 29 to May 5 this year.

PNP continues to remain the most influential pathway for immigration. Meanwhile, the Immigration Levels Plan 2023-2025 seeks to receive nearly 117,500 new Permanent Residents through PNP annually. Canada will accomplish this target by the latter part of 2025.

PNP is still dominant due to the shared responsibility of immigration between the federal and provincial governments. This is despite the fact that the final decision on Permanent Residence depends upon IRCC.

Introducing the PNP is an attempt by the government to address the target gaps in the provincial workforce. This implies that the program enables the provinces to select skilled and talented individuals who would be the perfect fit to contribute to Canada economically. Also, the number of candidates a province can invite or nominate keeps changing yearly.

This year’s target for PNP candidates is nearly 105,000. Furthermore, the existing slots are split amongst the 11 Canadian provinces and territories, with distinct PNPs. However, Quebec and Nunavut continue to remain exceptions in this regard.

For instance, there are almost 16,500 nominations in Ontario, whereas Newfoundland and Labrador recently declared nominations of around 3,050. This figure was nearly twice 1,500 in 2022.

British Columbia

British Columbia issued invitations to over 171 candidates using the British Columbia PNP. Additionally, candidates received invitations through four distinct draws. Out of the four draws, three happened to be targeted draws, while the only draw was a general one.

The general draw involved Skilled Workers, International Graduates Stream, and Express Entry candidates. They received an ITA if they had minimum scores, such as 104 for Skilled Workers and 107 for International Graduates. The Entry-Level and Semi-Skilled streams’ candidates received ITAs if they had a minimum score of 85.

All three targeted draws had a minimum requirement of a cut-off score of 60. 22 candidates received invitations under the Early Childhood Educators and Assistants category. On the other hand, 16 candidates received invitations under Healthcare occupations. Lastly, the Priority Occupations invited only five candidates.

Moreover, the targeted draws didn’t include candidates in the Entry-Level and Semi-Skilled categories.

Saskatchewan

Saskatchewan issued invitations to 1032 candidates in two distinct draws held on May 3 this year. Out of which, the maximum number of candidates was 739, and they received invitations through the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program’s Express Entry Stream. However, the rest of the 293 candidates received invitations under the Occupations In-Demand Stream. Also, both the above streams required a minimum score of 68. They were also supposed to have an Educational Credential Assessment.

Until now (in 2023), this province has conducted draws once a month.

PNP weekly immigration results for New Brunswick

New Brunswick recently released its PNP draw results for the month of April. Typically, this province conducts draws the entire month and then reveals all the results simultaneously.

As for April, 86 candidates obtained invitations through the Express Entry stream of the New Brunswick PNP. Among all of them, 45 belonged to the NB Employment Connection. Likewise, 27 belonged to the NB Student Connection, while the rest of the 14 were under the NB Occupations in Demand Connection.

Additionally, candidates who got the invitations have only 45 days for their application submission. If they receive a nomination through a province, they must accept it in their Express Entry profile within 30 days.

Manitoba

On May 4, Manitoba sent 539 Letters of Recommendation under the Manitoba PNP. Draws were conducted in three streams for the candidates.

252 candidates with the least score of 606 received ITAs in a draw that was occupation specific under the Skilled Worker Stream.

Moreover, candidates who belonged to NOC Occupations 2021 in the primary groups were acknowledged. They’re as follows:

  • Twelve- Administrative and Financial Supervisors, along with Specialized Administrative Occupations.
  • Twenty-Two- Technical Occupations associated with Natural and Applied Sciences.
  • Seventy Middle Management Occupations- Trades and Transportation.

Besides this, 199 candidates (Skilled Workers) obtained Letters of Advice to apply for a non-occupation draw. However, they had to fulfill the minimum score requirement of 650.

Moreover, 39 candidates received invitations through the International Education Stream. Additionally, there were 49 invitations issued through the Skilled Workers Overseas Stream, while the minimum score was 699.
