Prince Edward Island conducts fifth skilled worker draw of 2025. The province issued invitations to apply for provincial immigration.
Draw Summary
Date of draw | Draw category | Number of invitations issued |
May 15 | Labour Impact/ Express Entry | 168 |
The latest draw focused on candidates applying through both the Labour Impact and PEI Express Entry streams. It prioritized individuals employed in professions and key sectors with strong economic influence across the province.
Similar to other provinces, Prince Edward Island saw its nomination allocation reduced by 50% in 2025. This brought PEI’s total number of nomination spaces to 1,025 for the year.
According to draw totals published on the official Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program page, the province has now issued 569 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) through the Provincial Nominee Program in 2025. Every draw this year has invited applicants from the Labour Market and PEI Express Entry categories.
Due to the limited number of available nominations, priority is being given to skilled workers in sectors with higher demand in the province, including:
- Healthcare
- Trades
- Manufacturing
However, the PEI Office of Immigration has made it clear that individuals employed in sales and service roles may not receive invitations in the current conditions.
Overview Of The Labour Impact Pathway
Prince Edward Island conducts fifth skilled worker draw of 2025. Well, the Labour Impact category provides a path to permanent residence for foreign nationals with a valid, full-time employment offer from an eligible employer in PEI.
This category includes three streams:
- Skilled Worker Stream
- Critical Worker Stream
- International Graduate Stream
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be between 21 and 59 years old
- Show sufficient settlement funds
- Meet a minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) of 4
- Hold a full-time, permanent job offer from an approved PEI employer
Submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI) is the first step. An EOI reflects a candidate’s intent to apply but is not a formal application.
Candidates who receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) may then proceed to submit a full application for nomination.
Once nominated by PEI, candidates receive 600 additional points toward their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score in the federal Express Entry pool, significantly improving their chances of receiving a federal invitation for permanent residency.
