Prince Edward Island Releases Immigration Draw Schedule For 2026

Prince Edward Island releases immigration draw schedule for 2026. The schedule lists the planned dates when the province may issue Invitations to Apply (ITAs) through its Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP).

This announcement gives more clarity to potential provincial nominee candidates. It is important to note that Prince Edward Island is currently the only province in Canada that publicly releases a yearly draw schedule.

The Government of Prince Edward Island posted the tentative schedule on its official immigration website on January 7, 2026.

When Will Prince Edward Island Hold Its Immigration Draws In 2026?

In 2026, the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program plans to hold 12 Expression of Interest (EOI) draws.

Based on the published schedule, PEI is expected to issue invitations once every month. Most draws are planned for the middle of each month.

The table below shows the full list of PEI’s planned draws for 2026.

Draw Number Date Of Draw
1 January 15, 2026
2 February 19, 2026
3 March 19, 2026
4 April 16, 2026
5 May 21, 2026
6 June 18, 2026
7 July 16, 2026
8 August 20, 2026
9 September 17, 2026
10 October 15, 2026
11 November 19, 2026
12 December 17, 2026

PEI has stated that this schedule is for general information only. The province does not guarantee that a draw will happen on every listed date.

Draws may take place earlier or later than planned. In some cases, the province may also hold more than one draw in a single month, as seen in previous years.

Changes To The Draw Schedule In Past Years

In 2025, Prince Edward Island held three unexpected or “surprise” draws that were not listed in its original schedule. These surprise draws took place in January, October, and December.

Because of this, PEI held a total of 14 draws in 2025, even though only 11 were planned in the official schedule. Out of the 11 scheduled draws, the province followed the planned dates for eight of them.

Important Details For PEI PNP Candidates

Candidates should note that an Expression of Interest profile in PEI’s system is valid for only six months. This is different from most other provinces, where EOIs usually remain active for one year.

If an EOI profile expires, candidates must submit a new one to remain eligible for future draws. PEI encourages candidates to keep their profiles updated and to apply as soon as they meet the requirements of their chosen stream.

The number of invitations and the type of candidates selected can change from draw to draw. These decisions depend on PEI’s yearly nomination allocation, labour market needs, and priority jobs.

Review Of PEI PNP Draws In 2025

During 2025, Prince Edward Island issued a total of 1,609 Invitations to Apply.

Almost all invitations were issued through the Labour Impact category and the PEI Express Entry category. Only one invitation was issued under the Business Impact category, through the Work Permit Stream.

Most invitations in 2025 went to candidates working in priority sectors or occupations. International graduates from selected designated learning institutions were also targeted.

PEI’s priority sectors in 2025 included healthcare, skilled trades, and manufacturing. The province has not yet announced its priority sectors for 2026.
