Provincial nomination latest draw had three Canadian provinces, Ontario, Manitoba, and British Columbia, which issued invitations to eligible candidates.
Excluding Quebec and Nunavut, a majority of Canadian provinces or territories function through their own set of PNPs. However, interested candidates can receive an invitation to apply for a provincial nomination through these programs. A provincial nomination can give you an added advantage and lead to permanent residency.
Quebec governs its immigration programs, which are distinct from Canadian immigration programs. Moreover, Quebec is the only province with complete authority to select immigrants under the economic class.
The Provincial Nominee Program manages around 105,000 PR admissions every year. The program emerged in 1988, and since then, there has been a consistent increase in the number of immigrants.
Additionally, the provincial and federal governments also feel that PNPs significantly contribute to economic development in areas other than urban centers.
Provincial nomination latest draw- outcomes between January 7 and January 13
Ontario
Ontario sent 404 invitations on January 10 under the (Employer Job Offer) Foreign Worker Stream of OINP. However. two invites sent fall under the Economic Mobility Pathways Project. The draw emphasized candidates with occupations under skilled trades. Moreover, they must have full-time employment offers with a specific skilled occupation under the TEER category 0,1, 2, or 3. Additionally, candidates required a score of at least 35 points or beyond it.
On December 22, Ontario declared its maximum allocation of invitations to candidates in 2022. Overall, this province issued 9,750 invitations to candidates.
The province even declared that new applications, along with those already submitted to the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program will be accepted. Furthermore, this implies that these applications will get acknowledgment under the nomination allocation of 2023.
British Columbia
British Columbia sent 123 ITA’s to candidates in the tech occupation’s targeted draw held on January 10. Also, candidates under the Skilled Worker and International Graduate categories received invitations. The draw also included the Express Entry candidates.
The BC PNP’s tech stream came into existence in 2017, with more than 6,000 tech workers receiving a provincial nomination.
Apart from this, candidates also received a SIRS score of 90. The SIRS score is similar to the Comprehensive Ranking System but only applicable to British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program.
The province conducted invitation rounds for candidates under the following candidates:
- Early Childhood Educators and Assistants- least score of 60.
- Seventeen Healthcare Workers under the categories- Skilled Worker, International Graduate, and Express Entry categories with minimum scores of 60 points.
- Other in-demand professions with the least scores of 60 points.
Provincial nomination latest draw in Manitoba
Manitoba issued 322 invitations to suitable candidates through the Manitoba PNP on January 12. Besides this, candidates need to fulfill specific eligibility criteria to receive an invitation. Over, the province issued the following invites:
Manitoba invited the following:
- Issued 260 invitations under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba and the least score was 734.
- The skilled Workers Overseas category sent 20 invites with the least score of 713.
- Sent 42 invitations with zero scores needed under the International Education Stream.
Out of the total number of invitations issued, 27 were candidates with existing Express Entry profiles.
