Provincial Nominee Program outcomes for four Canadian Provinces

Provincial Nominee Program outcomes recently occurred for four Canadian provinces, including British Columbia, Ontario, Alberta, and Manitoba. Excluding Nunavut and Quebec, the Canadian provinces or territories function through a set of Provincial Nominee Programs. Moreover, aspiring candidates might also receive an invitation to pursue a Provincial Nomination. Also, acquiring a provincial nomination will lead to Canadian Permanent Residence.

Quebec governs and administers its immigration programs, which aren’t similar to Canadian immigration programs. It is the only Canadian province with complete authority over selecting economic class newcomers.

The Provincial Nominee Program receives and welcomes more than 105,000 PR admissions annually. The PNP emerged in 1988, and PNP admissions have only enhanced each year consistently.

The federal and provincial governments believe that PNPs have paved the way for economic growth outside urban centers.

IRCC sent 839 invitations to Express Entry candidates with a provincial nomination through IRCC. Also, this draw took place for the first time since June 2022.

Provincial Nominee Program outcomes between January 28 to February 3

Ontario

On January 31, Ontario sent 611 invitations to candidates under the Employer Job Offer under the Foreign Worker Stream of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program. This was a targeted draw concerning the healthcare and tech occupations. Besides this, candidates had to acquire a minimum score of 53 points.

Eligible candidates had to acquire a full-time employment offer in Ontario that also fulfills the criteria for TEER categories 0, 1, 2, or 3 under the NOC system.

Additionally, on February 2, Ontario conducted two targeted draws for candidates under the Human Capital Priorities Stream. Ontario sent 1,175 invitations in a tech occupation with the least score between 481 and 489. Also, under the healthcare occupation, the province issued 725 invitations between 476 and 489.

Alberta

The second invitation round witnessed the outcomes for Alberta and sent 154 letters to candidates in the Express Entry stream of the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program. Alberta also sent 46 letters of interest on January 19. Also, the province declared that the Express Entry candidates under the AAIP will receive invitations to high-demand occupations and immediate family connections. These two factors will guide the selection criteria for draws in the federal pool of Express Entry. However, there will be zero change in the eligibility criteria of AAIP streams.

Provincial Nominee Program outcomes under British Columbia

On January 31, British Columbia issued invitations to around 279 candidates to apply for a provincial nomination. The province sent 243 ITAs to candidates under Express Entry and categories of the Skilled Worker and International Graduate.

Candidates under the above two streams required a least SIRS score of 85. SIRS is somewhat similar to the Comprehensive Ranking System but is valid for only the British Columbia PNP.

Besides this, the candidates also conducted invitation rounds for those working in the following occupations:

  • Eighteen Early Childhood Educators and Assistants with a minimum score of 60 points.
  • 18 Healthcare Workers from the Skilled Worker, International Graduate, and Express Entry categories, with a minimum score of 60 points.
  • In-demand professions with the least score of 60 points.

Manitoba

Manitoba sent 21 Letters of Advice on January 30 under a special immigration initiative of Manitoba for individuals trying to seek refuge, away from the Ukraine conflict. However, candidates under this immigration pathway must meet the following conditions:

  • Hold Ukraine’s citizenship.
  • Have the least requirement of Canadian Language Benchmark 4 in each language aspect.
  • Strong connection with Manitoba like former employment, having immediate family, relatives, or education in the province.
  • Results of an authentic language test.
  • According to the Manitoba PNP assessment criteria, a minimum of 60 points must be shown.
