Provincial Nominee Programs invitations were sent to candidates by Ontario and Manitoba last week. The provincial nomination significantly varies from permanent residence; however, it can certainly lead to obtaining permanent residence from IRCC. A majority of Canadian provinces or territories, excluding Nunavut and Quebec, function through their own PNPs. It is only through PNPs that aspiring applicants might receive a provincial nomination.
Interestingly, Quebec governs its immigration programs, which differ from Canadian immigration programs.
Additionally, every year PNP manages successful PR admissions of up to 105,000. PNP emerged in 1998, and the number of admissions has only increased. According to federal and provincial governments, it is a productive tool to encourage economic development in areas other than urban centers.
