Skilled Workers Stream in Prince Edward Island

Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program

  1. PEI PNP – Skilled Worker Stream

If you are interested in applying for a skilled worker program then you have to complete the following criteria:

  • The potential applicants must have NOC skill levels O, A or B. 
  • You have to obtain a postsecondary certificate or degree or diploma. 
  • You must require working experience in a specific domain. 
  • You must have work experience of at least one year as a full-time worker or as a part-time employee counted equal to full-time working hours. 
  • If you are working in Prince Edward Island then you must require a valid working visa. 
  • You must have legal residency status in the country you’re currently a resident of. 
  • You must require at least a 2-year diploma or degree of your post-secondary education. 
  • Your age must fall in 21- 59 range.
  • You must require a minimum of 2 years of work experience in a specific domain or profession. 
  • You have to complete your language proficiency test in English and French in CLB level 7 or above. 
  • You will have to submit proof that you have sufficient financial sources to support yourself after you arrive in Canada. 
  • You have to show your interest to work and settle in Prince Edward Island.
  1. PEI PNP – Critical Worker Stream

This is a pilot program that is reviewed every year for industrialists and for occupational seeker candidates. To get a job under a critical worker program you require National Occupational Classification skill type C or D. You have to complete your higher secondary education which is equivalent to a higher secondary diploma.

This Pilot Program has included 5 occupations under this program such as: 

  1. Truck drivers
  2. Customer service representatives
  3. Labourers 
  4. Food & beverage servers
  5. Housekeeping attendants. 

You have to complete the following criteria to get entry in PEI-PNP Critical Worker Stream:

  • You must have a full-time or long-term job offer in Canada. 
  • You must have full-time job experience of at least 6 months under a valid employer in Prince Edward Island. 
  • You must require at least a 2-year diploma or degree of your post-secondary education. 
  • Your age must fall in the 21-59 range. 
  • You must require a minimum of 2 years of work experience in a specific domain or profession. 
  • You have to complete your language proficiency test in English and French in CLB level 7 or above. 
  • You will have to submit proof that you have sufficient financial sources to support yourself after you arrive in Canada. 
  • You have to show your interest to work and settle in Prince Edward Island.
  1. PEI PNP – International Graduate Stream

The International Graduate Stream in PEI PNP is a program that provides opportunities to the employers in Prince Edward Island to provide employment to those candidates who have recently completed their graduation from an authorised University or college in Prince Edward Island. The international students who completed their graduation must require a full-time job offer in the study field under NOC skill level 0, A or B which demonstrates the professional and skilled trade jobs.

You have to complete the following eligibility criteria for the PEI-PNP International Graduate program:

  • You must require a permanent and full-time job offer in PEI.
  • You should have a job experience of a minimum of 6 months under the PEI employer.
  • You must have legal residency status in the country you’re currently a resident of. 
  • You must require at least a 2-year diploma or degree of your post-secondary education. 
  • Your age must be between 21-59 years. 
  • You must require a minimum of 2 years of work experience in a specific domain or profession. 
  • You have to complete your language proficiency test in English and French in CLB level 7 or above. 
  • You will have to submit proof that you have sufficient financial sources to support yourself after your arrival in Canada. 
  • You have to show your interest in working and settling in the province.

Application Procedure

The Skilled Worker program in PEI is executed under the EOI (Expression of Interest) system. If you have completed all required eligibility norms then you can submit your profile to get entry into the PEI pool. You will get points against other candidates who have submitted their application under this particular program. The points you get will be based on the ranking system PEI Labour Impact Category. If you are able to get the highest ranking then you will get an invitation to apply under this program. you have to submit an application with complete information regarding you. If you are gaining selection, then you will be eligible for gaining a nomination from PEI. 

After Receiving A Provincial Nomination

After receiving Provincial nomination you have to submit a federal application for Permanent Residency status in Canada within six months after receiving the nomination letter from PEI. You can submit a paper-based application to apply for permanent residency status and submit it online by visiting your nearby immigration official centre. This application will take around 18 months as processing time. 

Labour Impact Category Ranking System

If You have successfully completed all eligibility criteria for the Skilled Worker in PEI then you will be required to create a profile in the EOI system of PEI. You will get 100 points in each category based on the following:

  • Your age
  • Your language proficiency results
  • Your educational qualification
  • Your previous work experience
  • Your job offer in PEI
  • Your intentions to settle in PEI

Fee Structure In PEI

You have to pay no charges while creating an Expression of Interest (EOI) profile. If you are successful to get nominated under the skilled worker program in PEI then you have to pay CAD 300 as non-refundable fee charges. You can make the payment for the fee using your credit and debit card. You have to pay your fee while submitting your application to apply for permanent residency status in Canada otherwise your application will not be accepted.
