The Temporary Resident applicants will begin to submit their biometrics if applying on or after February 23, 2023, from within Canada. IRCC had introduced a temporary exemption policy due to Covid-19 and failure to provide services. This policy came out precisely on July 15, 2020. Also, this exemption policy temporarily enabled the TR applicants to apply without the Biometrics.
However, now the need for biometrics will be resumed. During its Press Release, IRCC classified the Temporary Resident applicants into five chief groups:
- Applicants for study or work permits.
- Temporary Resident Permit applicants.
- Applicants for Visitor Visa.
- Individuals who seek to apply for their student, work, or visitor visa.
- Those looking forward to renewing their status as students, visitors, or workers.
Notably, even after this decision, IRCC believes that specific exemptions, biometric collection, and its temporary measures will remain intact concerning exceptional circumstances.
Temporary Resident applicants- the need for Biometric submission
While the TR applicants must make sure that they have already paid the biometrics fee while going ahead with their application procedure.
After this, the applicants will receive an instruction letter regarding the biometrics. This email letter will provide further details on the process to digitally provide your biometrics.
Besides this, TR applicants can submit their biometrics through 70 Service Canada Center Collection Sites. However, these sites function only via digital appointments.
