The latest all-program draw under Express Entry was held

The latest all-program draw under Express Entry took place on November 9 recently. The Express Entry draws for all programs resumed on July 6 this year after a long pause, and this was the tenth all-program draw. Additionally, around 4,750 candidates received invitations under the Comprehensive Ranking System, with the lowest CRS score of 494. Candidates received the invitations through three chief programs: the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the FSTP, and the Canadian Experience Class.

Express Entry all-program draws temporarily paused for quite a long period of 18 months in December 2020. Hence, during this temporary pause, only the CEC and PNP candidates continued to receive ITAs. This pause took place because of the existing application backlog. Later on, IRCC even paused CEC drew in September 2021.

After the last draw held on October 26, this is the second time that 4,750 candidates received ITAs. The CRS score underwent a decline of two points. Therefore, this is the lowest CRS score since the draws resumed on July 6.

Express Entry invitations in the all-program draw

Express Entry programs resumed on July 6, 2022, and the programs under it have issued ITAs to 26,250 candidates. However, the maximum number of applications is under CEC, equal to 13,774. CEC-eligible candidates possess only one year of Canadian work or living experience within a period of 36 months from the application date. They must have a CLB score of 5 and 7 under NOC B and NOC 0 or A, respectively.

The remaining invitations include 6,154 under the Federal Skilled Worker Program, and PNP Express Entry candidates stand at 6322. However, FSTP candidates didn’t receive any ITAs.

Immigration Levels Plan for 2023 to 2025

IRCC recently released the new Immigration Levels Plan 2023-2025 on November 1. All business lines received fixed targets for permanent residents under the different immigration programs. This new plan consists of a target from 2023-2025 for welcoming 500,000 new permanent residents in Canada toward the latter part of 2025.

Next year, in 2023, Express Entry will foresee around 82,880 immigrants arriving as permanent residents in Canada. The 2024 and 2025 targets are 109,020 and 114,000, respectively. Moreover, these targets highlight the significance of Canadian immigration due to the current labor shortage. 90 percent of Canada’s labor force growth rate is due to immigration, while population growth accounts for 75 percent.

Only PNP targets have surpassed the Express Entry, making it the second-highest among economic class programs.

Express Entry

Express Entry manages Canadian immigration applications through its primary economic class streams: FSWP, CEC, and FSTP. For instance, if a candidate exists in the pool of Express Entry, it implies that he is already eligible for any of the above programs.

Candidates further receive a score under the Comprehensive Ranking System to compete with other candidates. Only those with higher scores receive an ITA for Permanent Residency.

Once the candidate applies for PR, an IRCC officer verifies all details and eventually decides on the application status. Only after his approval, the candidate becomes a Canadian permanent resident.
