The latest provincial immigration round results were published recently for British Columbia, Quebec, Ontario, and Prince Edward Island. These draws occurred apart from the PNP-specific Express Entry draw conducted on May 10. In this PNP-specific draw, 589 candidates received invitations, with a CRS score of 691. This type of draw occurred for the fourth time in 2023.
The Provincial Nominee Program took effect in 1998 to uplift the provinces so that they could possibly invite more suitable economic immigrants. These will be immigrants who could integrate well within the province and economically support themselves.
Additionally, this program will be able to create awareness among people about Canadian immigration. This is primarily an attempt to reduce the population concentration in big urban cities and bring a shift in the provinces with more immigrants settling there.
Essentially, all Canadian provinces or territories operate through a distinct PNP. However, Quebec and Nunavut are exceptions.
Conversely, Quebec also works through an agreement with the federal government, permitting all economic immigrants who seek to settle here.

Ontario
Ontario issued invitations to 5,196 candidates in the recent four PNP draws last week. On May 5, Quebec invited 1,863 candidates in tech occupations targeted draw under the Human Capital Priorities Stream of Express Entry. Candidates required a score range between 475 and 482.
The province issued 2,349 invitations to candidates on May 8 in a targeted draw for healthcare occupations. These candidates, too, were a part of the Human Capital Priorities Stream under Express Entry, and the CRS score was 427.
On May 9, Ontario conducted another two draws. The first draw belonged to the International Student Stream under the Employer Job Offer category. The province issued invitations to candidates for both tech and health occupations. Meanwhile, the candidates required a score of 62 or beyond it.
Similarly, the second draw issued 400 invitations to candidates under the Foreign Worker Stream of the Employer Job Offer category. The minimum score was 43, and only candidates residing in Canada as well as those with employment offers in targeted skilled trades occupations, qualified for the invitations.
Quebec
Quebec issued invitations to 802 candidates to apply for permanent selection. This was under the Quebec Regular Skilled Worker Program, with a minimum score of 571. The draw occurred on May 1, and the results came out on May 4.
Moreover, the province emphasized candidates possessing various NOC codes and employment offers outside the territory of Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal.
Even though Quebec has the power to select its economic class immigrants, candidates with a Quebec Selection Certificate will require to apply to IRCC if they seek Canadian Permanent Residency.
British Columbia
British Columbia province also issued invitations to over 150 candidates on May 9 in four targeted draws. Further, these draws occurred under the British Columbia PNP for the International Graduate Stream and Skilled Worker Stream.
These draws especially included Express Entry candidates. The most recent draw focused on 93 candidates under tech occupations, with a least SIRS score of 90. This SIRS functions similarly to the Comprehensive Ranking System for BC PNP. The other three draws targeted 34 Early Childhood Educators, 23 candidates within Healthcare Occupations, and below five candidates in other Priority Occupations.
These remaining draws had a least SIRS score of 60 (each draw).
The latest provincial immigration round results for Prince Edward Island
Prince Edward Island held a small-size draw issuing invitations to 122 candidates under the PEI Provincial Nominee Program streams- Labour and Express Entry Streams.
This PEI PNP draw was held on May 4. Although this appears to be the smallest province, it invites a high level of immigrants via the PNP. The Census data of 2021 claims that the province has the highest percentage of recent immigrants under the economic class who received provincial nominations.
