The province of British Columbia and Manitoba conducted a new PNP draw

These provinces conducted their PNP draws from April 4 to April 8

The previous week, the province of Manitoba and British Columbia conducted their PNP draw.   

The Canadian provinces have the liberty to invite immigrants into their provinces by conducting their PNP draw. The PNP draw is not a pathway that can directly offer Canadian permanent residency, instead, it can significantly increase the chances of getting a Canadian permanent residency by giving eligible candidates a provincial nomination.

Successful express entry candidates applying for the PNP draw are rewarded with 600 additional points. A total of 919 PNP candidates were invited through the Express Entry attaining a least score of CRS 785 points.

The province of British Columbia and Manitoba had released applications for PNP draws in the last 14 days. The details are given below   

  • The province of British Columbia

This province conducts its PNP round every 7 days.   

On April 5, the province conducted its invitations round through BC PNP. More than 180 immigration applicants were getting provincial nominations through this draw.   

Out of the total invitation given to 180 candidates, 131 of them have to match the eligibility criteria of either Skills Immigration or Express Entry BC and were categorized under the general draw.   

Candidates falling under the category of Skilled Workers, Entry Level, and Semi-Skilled and international students have received the invitation. The minimum score requirement varied from 77 to 125 on the basis of the stream chosen.  

 Over the past few weeks, the province had released invitations for immigrants working in target occupations to resolve the issue of labor shortage in those industries.   

Following is the list of applications released for professionals working in specified industries   

  • 43 teachers for kindergarten classes have been invited with at least 70 points.   
  • 14 paramedic staff have been invited with the lowest score of 70.   
  • Around 5 paramedic assistants have been invited with the lowest score of 70   
  • Around 5 technologists working for animal health and animal doctors have been invited with the lowest score of 78.
  • The province of Manitoba

A total of 223 immigrants have been invited through MPNP at the end of the first week of April. The immigrants were invited through 3 different streams  

  1. Skilled Workers Overseas – A total of 33 immigrants matching the eligibility criteria have been invited with the lowest score of 739
  2. Skilled Workers in Manitoba- A total of 156 immigrants matching the eligibility criteria have been invited with the lowest score requirement of 683.
  3. International Education stream- There has been no minimum score requirement for immigrants applying under this category.

All the 223 immigrants have received the invitation, out of which 30 of them were the Express Entry profiles.   

Immigrants longing to receive a provincial nomination from the Canadian province of Manitoba had to start by registering an EOI. Then the candidates are marked out of 1000 and ranked on the basis of their assessment. After this, candidates matching all the eligibility criteria and score requirements are given the opportunity to apply for the provincial nomination.
