The province of Manitoba has invited 278 applications through PNP draw

The candidates are invited through the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) through 3 kinds of PNP streams. Following is the list provided of minimum scores with its corresponding program and the number of invitations released.

  • Skilled Workers Overseas- 39 immigrants with the least score of 685 will be invited
  • Skilled Workers in Manitoba- 206 skilled workers whose minimum score is 612 will be welcomed
  • International Education Stream- 33 immigrants will be invited with no such minimum score requirement
  • 66 invitations are included for the Express Entry system

What is Express Entry

The Canadian Government operates the application with Express Entry. The following 3 programs are subcategorized under the Express Entry

Once the profile of the candidate is set up in the express entry system CRS points are rewarded to the candidates based on factors like age, level of proficiency in the language, past work experience, etc. The top-ranked candidates are then provided with invitations for applying for Canadian PR through Express Entry.

Applying through the Express Entry system for Canadian PR is quite possible. But applying through provincial nomination increases the chances of getting Canadian PR by giving additional 600 CRS points which subsequently comes with the surety of getting an Invitation to Apply.

Immigration programs

MPNP looks into immigration programs of the province and its related inquiries. The provinces of Canada do not hold the powers to give the status of Canadian PR to immigrants, rather they can help by giving them the provincial nomination.

If a candidate wishes to get an invitation for nomination from the province of Manitoba, they first need registration with MPNP. This further allows the candidate to receive an LAA either through Skilled Workers Overseas or Skilled Workers in Manitoba.

The candidates are also marked on the factors like past connections with the province and human capital factors. After this, the candidates are ranked out of 1000 points.

The Skilled Workers Overseas Category and Skilled Workers in Manitoba are designed in a way to recognize the candidates who can match the labor market requirements.

Immigration applicants residing abroad need to portray a link to the province of Manitoba either through immediate family ties or any previous work experience in the province or an invitation received through Manitoba’s Strategic Recruitment. Residing in the province is not a compulsion for the candidates during the time period of application.

The category of Skilled Workers looks for candidates who have a full-time job offer letter from a Canadian employer.

International scholars who have graduated from the province of Manitoba and possess in-demand skills become eligible to get an invitation for the International Education Stream.
