British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, and Saskatchewan announced the week’s result of the latest PNP draw.
Excluding Nunavut and Quebec, most of the provinces and territories in Canada operate their PNPs. Provincial Nominee Programs help aspiring candidates apply for a Provincial Nomination. Provincial nomination and permanent residence significantly differ from one another but a provincial nomination greatly helps in acquiring permanent residence. It is the first step toward enhancing the CRS score. PNP candidates who already have the Express Entry profiles also attain 600 extra points in their CRS score. Further, they have the chance to apply for PNP invitation rounds.
When PNP first came in 1998, it welcomed only 400 newcomers. With time, the program’s popularity increased and it started welcoming over 80,000 new immigrants annually. The increase in the number of PNP entries in Canada was a result of the federal and provincial government’s mindset about the PNP. They considered PNPs as a resourceful tool for economically developing the country.
Express Entry Draws take place once every two weeks. IRCC is now regularly conducting an all-program draw under Express Entry. On July 6, the first Express Entry draw took place and it was not at all program-specific. Recently on August 31, the latest all-program draw under Express Entry was held in which 2,750 invitations were sent to candidates, with the lowest CRS score of 516.
PNP results for draws between August 26- September 1

Saskatchewan conducted a massive draw on September 1 and sent invitations to 941 candidates (Express Entry) via the In-demand occupation category under SINP (Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program).
312 candidates from Express Entry received invitations, while 629 candidates received invites through the In-demand occupation category. The minimum EOI score was 61 for both categories. Those candidates receiving invitations had their ECA (Educational Credential Assessment) completed.
In July, four Canadian provinces held draws with over 200 candidates receiving invitations each time. These draws usually took place every week for the entire August. These draws typically sent 600 invitations. Before this, Saskatchewan conducted draws just once in two months.
Ontario
Ontario sent invites to 680 candidates through the stream of Master’s Graduate and to 101 candidates via the Ph.D. Graduate Stream. Both these streams formed a part of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program. The Ontario province has a record of admitting the highest number of newcomers. These newcomers in Ontario contribute to at least one-third of them annually.
The draw in Ontario was conducted for the first time ever since June. Those belonging to the stream of Master’s Graduate had minimum scores of over 37, while the Ph.D. Graduate Stream candidates had a minimum score of over 26.
