Every Canadian province has the power to execute its PNP draws according to its requirements. Although the provinces of Nunavut and Quebec are exempted from this power.
With the medium of the PNP draw, applicants with the aim to migrate to Canada can apply for provincial nomination.
Although receiving a provincial nomination does not provide the applicant an assurance of getting a status of Canadian permanent residency.
An additional 600 CRS points are added to the final scores of the applicants who have received the provincial nomination.
Instead, the growth in total score because of additional scores assures of getting an invitation from the PNP draw.
Only four hundred immigrants arrived in Canada through this program when it was launched. But with its continued success over years, more than eighty thousand immigrants are welcomed in Canada each year.
Also, the government of Canada believes in executing this program. The reason behind this is the economic development the country gets in return from the immigrants coming to their country
The latest Express Entry draw was conducted on April 27 whereas the next Express Entry draw is expected to be held on May 11. The Express Entry draw always takes place at an interval of every 14 days.
The Express Entry’s key focus is the Provincial Nominee Program. Although draws for CEC, FSWP, and FSTP are set to begin in the early days of July.
Sean Fraser has proclaimed that the IRCC will start to process new applications according to the ideal processing time which is 6 months.
The Canadian Government is determined about welcoming more than one lakh migrants over a time span of the next 24 months.
The province of British Columbia
A total of 178 immigrants under the category of BC PNP were invited by the province that conducted its provincial nominee program on May 3.
Out of the total invited applicants, 141 were granted invitations through a general draw. The invited candidates either belonged to the category of foreign skilled workers or students. All the qualifying candidates had a score ranging between 77 and 123.
The province of British Columbia had also conducted 3 additional draws to specifically target professionals of certain occupations.
- The province had invited a total of 28 teachers for primary classes.
- A total of 9 paramedic professionals were also invited.
- All the above-invited candidates had to qualify for the eligibility criteria and a score requirement of CRS of 65 points.
- A total of veterinarian medical staff and doctors were also invited by the province. All the applicants need to pass the eligibility criteria and have to possess a CRS score of 65 points to receive a provincial invitation.
The province of British Columbia also announced that the category of BC PNP Entrepreneur Immigration will be open for applications from the early days of July this year.
The decision to put a halt to applications of this category was to analyze and modify the program according to current economic requirements.
Although the categories of Strategic Projects and The Regional Pilot were still open for receiving applications from entrepreneur applicants.
The province of Manitoba
The province of Manitoba had invited a total of 315 immigrants through the following 3 different streams.
- Skilled Workers in Manitoba- A total of 249 applicants were invited by the province of Manitoba. The applicants need to qualify the eligibility criteria with a minimum score requirement of 651 CRS points
- Skilled Workers Overseas- A total of 34 applicants were invited through this category. The eligible candidates need to have a minimum score of CRS 691 points
- International Education Stream- A total of 32 applicants were invited by the province of Manitoba under this category. Although there was no minimum score requirement for this.
Out of 315 invited candidates, 48 were Express Entry profiles
Invitation of nominations is only offered to candidates who have possession of an Expression of Interest.
After successful completion of registering an Expression of Interest, candidates are open to getting an LAA either via Skilled Workers in Manitoba or Skilled Workers Overseas Stream.
The province has a ranking-based system which is extracted by marking applicants out of 1000 points to grant invitations. The marks are allotted on various factors like age, and human capital if the candidate possesses any connection with the province of Manitoba.
The province of Saskatchewan
The province released applications for SINP on May 5. Under this, a total of 198 eligible candidates are provided an invitation for provincial nomination.
Out of the total invited candidates, 106 of them were Express Entry profiles, whereas the remaining 91 candidates were from the category of Occupation in Demand.
All the candidates have fulfilled the defined eligibility criteria with a minimum score requirement of 85 points for both categories. Also, the candidates need to have work experience in any of the 40 occupations mentioned.
While the province was releasing applications for immigrants, invitations for a provincial nomination were also issued to the people of Ukraine.
A total of 54 applicants are invited by the province of Saskatchewan belonging to the category of Entrepreneur. The score requirement for this category ranged from 90 and 130.
