Three Canadian provinces disclose recent PNP draw results

Manitoba, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan provinces released their latest PNP draw results in the previous week. All the territories and regions in Canada function through their PNPs and make it possible for all aspiring candidates to apply for a provincial nomination. Provincial nomination is not equivalent to permanent residence but can help the candidate obtain permanent status. If a PNP candidate also has a profile created under Express Entry, he will receive 600 extra points for their CRS score. This further makes them eligible to receive an invitation to apply for PNP-specific invitation rounds.

According to the current data, PNP usually welcomes over 80,000 immigrants annually, unlike the small figure when it was launched. Earlier it only welcomed 400 immigrants. The increase of immigrants from just 400 to 80,000 is only due to the recognition from provincial and federal governments that believe it is efficient for economic growth.

Usually, Express Entry draws are conducted every two weeks. IRCC continued with the all-program draws on July 6 after a long break. In 2020, the first all-program draw was conducted on July 6, in which 1,500 ITAs were issued to candidates with a minimum CRS score of 557. The recent draw, which was held on August 3, had 2000 ITAs sent to candidates with a minimum CRS score of 533.

Results of PNP draws conducted between August 5 to 11

British Columbia

A PNP draw was conducted recently in British Columbia on August 10, in which 155 candidates received ITAs to apply for a provincial nomination.

A PNP draw in British Columbia holds weekly draws every Wednesday. The previous week, most candidates were invited to the regional draws based on targeted categories, including tech occupations.

The main objective of this draw was to bridge the existing gap in the labor market due to acute labor shortages, specifically in some areas. These regions lack skilled workers.

The SIRS score for the Skilled Worker category (EEBC) ranged from 76 to 114 of Entry level and Semi-Skilled workers.

The Skills and Immigration Registration System (SIRS) only functions for British Columbia’s Provincial Nominee Program and is quite similar to Express Entry’s CRS.

Invitation rounds were conducted for candidates concerning the following occupations:

  • Early Childhood Educators and Assistants- NOC (4214) with a minimum score of 60.
  • Health Workers have a minimum score of 60.
  • Healthcare Assistants (NOC 3413) have a minimum score of 60- Entry Level & Semi-Skilled Workers.
  • Skilled Workers & International Graduates- Targeted Occupations with a minimum score of 60.

Saskatchewan

The province of Saskatchewan sent 745 invites to candidates under the In-Demand Occupations and Express Entry category on August 11 through SINP (Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program). The province of Saskatchewan continues with its regular weekly draws. In July, the province conducted four draws and sent 200 invites to candidates with each draw. Before July, the province had only held draws once in two months.

Around 533 candidates were invited through the province under the Express Entry category. Also, 312 candidates received invites under the category of In-Demand Occupation. As observed in the draw held on July 27, the EOI score for the above categories was 68.

Those candidates who received invites possessed Educational Credential Assessments.

Manitoba

The province of Manitoba conducted a PNP draw on August 11, with around 345 invites issued to candidates through Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP).

The invitations that were sent can be further classified into three immigration streams:

  • Skilled Workers Overseas- 33 invitations; the minimum score is 718.
  • Skilled Workers in Manitoba- 257 invitations; the minimum score is 623.
  • International Education Stream- 55 invitations, zero score requirement.

The total number of candidates who had received invitations to apply consisted of 86 candidates who had already created Express Entry profiles.
