Three Canadian Provinces Invite Applicants For Immigration

Three Canadian provinces invite applicants for immigration. Quebec does not have a Provincial Nominee Program but instead has a separate agreement with the federal government that allows the province the authority to select all economic immigration applicants.

Provincial Immigration Results: August 3 To August 9

Three Canadian provinces invite applicants for immigration. Below are the immigration results for the same.

1. British Columbia

This week, British Columbia invited more than 144 applicants to apply for nomination through the BC PNP.

The province invited 52 applicants in a general draw. The draw considered those in the Skilled Worker, International Graduate, Entry-Level, and Semi-Skilled categories, who needed to score 110.

Moreover, the province also held four occupation-specific draws for applicants in the Skilled Worker and International Graduate streams. This included:

  • 32 applicants in childcare professions with a minimum score of 88
  • 29 applicants in construction occupations with a minimum score of 90
  • 24 applicants in healthcare professions with a minimum score of 101
  • Less than five applicants in veterinary care professions with a minimum score of 80

2. Alberta

Alberta held a draw on July 30 for applicants in its Dedicated Healthcare Pathway with Alberta job offer stream. The 54 applicants needed a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System score of 300 or higher. Moreover, Alberta posts these draw results retroactively.

This stream is aligned with Canada’s federal Express Entry system, which implies that applicants should already have an application in the Express Entry application pool. Those who obtain an invitation from the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) automatically obtain an additional 600 CRS points on their Express Entry application, thus making it all but guaranteed they will obtain an ITA in an upcoming Express Entry draw.

In addition, Alberta is also launching a new expression of interest system for worker streams on September 30, 2024. Also, this new system will replace the current monthly application intake and allow for an ongoing intake of applications. The AAIP states that applicants will be placed in a selection pool and then invited to apply based on their ‘candidate ranking and provincial labor market needs and priorities’.

3. Quebec

Three Canadian provinces invite applicants for immigration, out of which Quebec was the third.

Quebec invited provincial immigration applicants on August 1. Like Alberta, Quebec posts provincial immigration results retroactively.

In addition, the province invited 1,490 people to apply. They require a minimum score of 580 in addition to a level 7 oral proficiency or higher in French as per the Échelle québécoise des niveaux de compétence en français or equivalent.

Applicants might also have been considered if they had a job offer of the Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal.
