Three Canadian provinces published the weekly PNP results, including Ontario, Manitoba, and British Columbia. Most Canadian provinces and territories function through their distinct set of Provincial Nominee Programs. Conversely, Quebec is not in this category of provinces. Typically, PNPs enable provinces to send nominations to eligible candidates who can establish themselves in specific regions. Also, those who qualify can integrate well into the provincial economy and labor force.
Canadian provinces also conduct draws to select candidates with human capital characteristics and specific in-demand work experience. For instance, a few PNP draws issue invitations to candidates to apply for nomination, depending on the occupation. They also issued invitations to international students who graduated from a particular province.
Candidates only receive nominations before they obtain an Expression of Interest through the provincial government to which they applied. Those with nominations will eventually get a strengthened application when applying to IRCC for Canadian permanent resident status.
Provinces and territories in the country usually consider a minimum score when sending the EOIs. Just like the Express Entry system, candidates receive scores based on human capital traits. However, scores are calculated based on the provincial score system rather than the Express Entry CRS score system.
Three Canadian provinces published the weekly PNP results between March 9 and 15
Ontario
Ontario sent EOIs to candidates in three distinct draws through the Employer Job Offer: International Student Stream of OINP last week. All the draws occurred on March 12, inviting 1,306 candidates with the lowest score of 72 in a general draw. In another draw, the province issued invitations to 649 candidates. This was a targeted draw for the skilled trades occupations category, in which candidates demanded a minimum score of 66 to be acknowledged.
The rest of the draw issued ITAs to 684 candidates in the healthcare and tech professions, with a minimum score requirement of 72 points. The province also sent 11 invitations to candidates via the Employment Job Offer: Foreign Worker Stream. The draw emphasized the candidates from the Economic Mobility Pathways Project.
British Columbia
British Columbia issued more than 187 invitations to those in the Skilled Worker and International Graduate streams. These candidates received invitations in five occupational draws. Here’s a breakdown of the draws:
- Tech occupations – A minimum score requirement of 113; 65 candidates got the invitations. This was the most significant draw, with the highest minimum score requirement.
- Construction occupations – 30 candidates; minimum score requirement was 80.
- The remaining three draws issued invitations to candidates with a score requirement of 75 points.
- Healthcare – 38 candidates received an invitation.
- Childcare – 54 candidates obtained ITAs.
- Veterinary Care – Less than five candidates received ITAs.
Manitoba published the weekly PNP results
The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program issued invitations to 104 candidates in the latest EOI draw on March 8. Candidates who were acknowledged from the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream needed the lowest score of 614.
Manitoba states candidates who received EOIs already have an existing Express Entry profile.
