Three Canadian provinces released the latest immigration results

Three Canadian provinces released the latest immigration results, including British Columbia, Manitoba, and Quebec.

A majority of Canadian provinces and territories work through Provincial Nominee Programs to choose immigrants under the economic class. However, Quebec and Nunavut don’t fall under this category. These are candidates who will be better able to establish themselves in the provincial setup and boost its economy.

Each year, these provinces get specific allocations to nominate candidates through their separate PNPs. However, the provinces get different sets of allocations according to their workforce and total population.

Three Canadian provinces released the latest immigration results – September 9 and 15

Quebec

Quebec sent invitations to 1,433 candidates to proceed with permanent selection applications on September 5. Candidates were required to score at least 586 points to get acknowledged. The score system of Quebec is pretty similar to the Comprehensive Ranking System. It is the sole Canadian province with French as its official language. Candidates must also possess a CLB 7 score to show proficiency in the French language. This is an initiative to promote Francophone culture and protect the French status in Quebec.

Manitoba

On September 7, Manitoba issued invitations to 558 candidates to apply under Manitoba PNP. The province conducted four separate draws and considered candidates from three different streams. Out of these draws, two draws were held for Skilled Workers in Manitoba. The first draw occurred for specific occupations and focused on candidates with occupations under NOC 2021 major groups. Overall, the candidates required a minimum score of 595.

The second draw was a general one and targeted skilled workers. The province issued 236 invitations to candidates in this draw; the minimum score requirement was 640. The province didn’t target any other characteristics or occupations.

The next draw issued invitations to 52 and 40 candidates under the International Education Stream and Skilled Workers Overseas, respectively. The lowest score requirement was 724.

British Columbia released the latest immigration results

On September 12, British Columbia held the weekly PNP draw and issued invitations to 183 candidates. These candidates belonged to the Skilled Workers and International Graduate Streams. The draw also included Express Entry candidates.

The invitations were sent through three target-specific occupation draws. The largest draw was the one in which 133 tech occupation candidates received invitations, while the minimum score was 88.

The remaining two draws were held for the following:

  • 36 Childhood Educators and Assistants
  • 14 Healthcare Professionals

The lowest CRS score requirement was 60.
