Three Canadian provinces released the PNP nomination outcomes

Three Canadian provinces released the PNP nomination outcomes, including British Columbia, Prince Edward Island, and Alberta. The Provincial Nominee Program has always made its mark, and the journey has been unique and special. This is because when PNP began in 1998, there were a lesser number of people who immigrated using this pathway. Gradually, it gained momentum and continues to be a leading immigration pathway.

PNPs helped the provincial government select economic immigration candidates appropriate for contributing to the provincial labor market. These were candidates who had the potential to reside in the nominating province.

Not to forget that the provincial and federal governments had a mutual responsibility. Furthermore, candidates who agree to a provincial nomination must step up and apply to IRCC to attain permanent status. A Permanent Residence application gives significant value to those with a provincial nomination.

This becomes even more crucial if the PNP candidate exists in the Express Entry pool. These candidates under Express Entry might also receive a provincial nomination. If they get approved for a provincial nomination, they will acquire 600 additional points. These points will be added to their CRS scores. This entire process is called the Enhanced Nomination.

The candidates getting these extra 600 points will ensure that they receive an ITA in the forthcoming draws. So far, in 2023, the lowest score to receive an invitation to apply has been higher than 791. This is about a PNP-specific draw on February 15. Contrarily, the lowest score is generally below this.

Three Canadian provinces released the PNP nomination outcomes between September 30 and October 5

British Columbia

Typically, British Columbia issues ITAs to candidates under the British Columbia PNP every week in various distinct draws. On October 4, the province issued invitations to 110 candidates in a general draw. Furthermore, this implies that this draw didn’t emphasize any specific professions.

The lowest score for candidates differed based on the candidate’s program stream. The Skilled Worker Stream required a minimum score of 111, and international students required a score of 113. Meanwhile, the candidates under the Entry-Level and Semi-Skilled streams required a score of 91.

The Skilled Worker and International Graduate Stream conducted three more draws. Also, candidates in these three draws required the lowest score of 60. The outcomes are as follows:

  • Early Childhood Educators and Assistants – 51
  • Healthcare Professionals – 25
  • Other Priority Occupations – below 5

Alberta

On October 3, 33 candidates received nominations via the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program. The chosen candidates belonged to the Priority Sector-Agricultural Occupation with Alberta Job Offer category. The candidates also existed under Express Entry. They had to fulfill the minimum score requirement of 313 to get a nomination.

This draw occurred after the Agricultural and Agri-Food category-based draw took place. These Express Entry category-based draws also partially align with Canada’s PNP streams. As a result, the federal government makes it possible for economic class candidates to combat the labor shortages.

Prince Edward Island released the PNP nomination outcomes

On October 5, Prince Edward Island issued invitations to 20 candidates via the Prince Edward Island PNP Labour and Express Entry category.

The candidates who received the nominations were from the healthcare and food processing industries.

The targeted draws under PEI have been taking place since July 20. Before this date, all draws that had taken place were the general draws. This means that they didn’t focus on any particular occupations.

Since July, the province has issued invitations to 500 candidates. PEI has primarily targeted candidates in the food processing, healthcare, manufacturing, and construction sectors. Moreover, it also issued invitations to candidates in draws targeting undefined critical workers.
