Three Canadian provinces released their weekly PNP results. The provinces are Ontario, British Columbia, and Manitoba.
Provinces have the authority to choose economic immigrants who they believe will fit well with the local labor force and economy. Candidates who apply to IRCC for permanent residency have a stronger chance of applying when they attain a nomination.
There is a cap on the number of nominations that provinces can use to extend invitations to candidates. A province’s allocation of nominations depends on several variables, including its population, economics, and ability to provide newcomer settlement services. Except for Nunavut and Quebec, every province and territory in Canada has a PNP. In contrast to an allotted number, Quebec can choose all its economic immigrants thanks to a separate agreement with the federal government.
Three Canadian provinces released their weekly PNP results between December 2 to 8
Ontario
For applicants to the Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker Stream of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP), Ontario carried out three distinct draws.
All of the candidates were in the same stream, but the three draws focused on distinct qualities. With a minimum score of 43, 1,663 applicants were in healthcare and STEM fields.
There was one more draw for candidates with a background in skilled trades. 761 applicants with a minimum score of 34 in these occupations received invitations from the province.
13 candidates were the focus of the final draw for the Economic Mobility Pathways Project (EMPP). There was no required minimum score. Skilled refugees and other abandoned people can immigrate to Canada under the EMPP.
British Columbia
On December 5, British Columbia conducted four focused draws for 193 BC PNP candidates, either skilled workers or international graduates.
The largest attraction involved 92 individuals working in technology-related fields. A minimum score of 94 in the SIRS was essential for candidates.
Additionally, the province invited 24 candidates with a minimum score of 60 for healthcare jobs and 46 candidates for early childhood educators and aides.
Applicants working in the construction occupation participated in the final draw. The minimum SIRS score required for the 31 invited candidates was 75.
Manitoba released the PNP weekly results
In an effort to provide special immigration treatment to persons impacted by the current situation in Ukraine, the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) extended invitations to 117 candidates on December 4.
A nomination was given to candidates in this draw if they were:
- A Ukrainian national;
- In every language band, at least a 4 on the Canadian Language Benchmark;
- Possessed a relationship with Manitoba
- Had a valid language test;
- Possessed a score of at least 60 points based on the MPNP assessment criteria.
- Also, they were able to meet all other prerequisites, such as having enough settlement money, for the Skilled Worker Overseas pathway.
