Three Canadian provinces sent ITAs to candidates through PNPs

Three Canadian provinces sent ITAs to candidates through PNPs, including British Columbia, Alberta, and Prince Edward Island. The British Columbia PNP and the Alberta PNP are the two most prominent Provincial Nominee Programs in Canada. In-demand skilled workers, entrepreneurs, international graduates, and new immigrants can access the immigration streams through the above two programs.

Canadian provinces and territories have separate scoring patterns and conditions, and one can’t compare them. Due to the variation in the criteria, the score or grade results will differ.

The provincial immigration outcomes – February 10 to February 16

British Columbia

Last week, the British Columbia PNP sent invitations to candidates using the following streams:

  • Skilled Worker Stream;
  • International Graduate Stream (Express Entry British Columbia Stream)

The International Graduate Stream, including the EEBC option, considers international students demonstrating in-demand skills for the labor market in British Columbia.

The province issued a minimum of 200 invitations to international graduates and skilled workers in the following five in-demand employment sectors:

  • Childcare – A minimum score requirement of 60 points.
  • The construction sector’s minimum score requirement was 75 to get an invitation.
  • The healthcare sector had a minimum score of 60.
  • The tech sector required a minimum score of 108.
  • The minimum score requirement for the veterinary sector was 60 points.

Alberta

Alberta sent 44 NOIs to candidates who demonstrated professional experience in the healthcare sector on February 6 through Alberta Job Offer’s Dedicated Healthcare Pathway. If a candidate seeks to receive an invitation, they must possess healthcare experience in the province and also obtain an employment offer from an Alberta employer. In this case, the candidates needed to demonstrate a minimum score requirement of 302 to obtain an ITA.

Prince Edward Island

Prince Edward Island issued 121 EOIs to Labor and Express Entry candidates under the PEI Provincial Nominee Program. Those candidates who had been working under a PEI employer and possessed an EOI score of 65 could get an ITA. PEI has issued 2,307 invitations over the past twelve months, with 2,253 EOIs sent to the Labor and Express Entry candidates. In addition, 54 invitations were issued to the Business Work Permit Entrepreneur.

Candidates can boost their chances of obtaining an ITA through PNP

All PNPs have in-demand profession streams that correspond to the labor market requirements of their respective locations. This is despite most streams targeting people who have links with the province. These could be people who:

  • Have graduated from a Designated Learning Institution;
  • Acquired a job offer letter;
  • Have some ties with the family members in the specific province or territory.

Hence, those who seek Canadian immigration might find it beneficial to customize their work experience according to the provincial or territorial requirements. Moreover, this is a crucial factor in Provincial Nominee Programs in Canada. Provinces even publicize in-demand careers or occupations to entice new immigrants who combat these labor market shortages or gaps across the country.
