Three Provinces In Canada Issued ITAs To Candidates

Three provinces in Canada issued ITAs to candidates for their respective Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) this week.

The PNP was introduced in 1998 to spread the benefits of immigration across Canada. It does so by sharing responsibility for immigration between the federal government, provinces, as well as territories.

Today, it is one of the leading ways to immigrate to Canada as a skilled worker.

Being nominated by a province does not grant permanent resident status. Candidates nominated by a province still have to go through IRCC.

However, it does help strengthen an applicant’s application. Express Entry candidates obtaining a provincial nomination receive an additional 600 CRS points, almost guaranteeing an ITA in a forthcoming Express Entry draw.

Provincial Immigration Results: October 5 – 11

Three provinces in Canada issued ITAs to candidates to apply for provincial nominations. Below are the results for the same.

1. Ontario

On October 8, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program issued invitations to candidates who qualify for the Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker Stream.

It issued over 885 invitations for those in skilled trades occupations, with a minimum score cut-off of 48.

Moreover, the province issued 841 invitations under the same stream in a targeted draw for other priority professions. To receive an invitation, candidates needed a score of 52 or higher, as well as an employment offer in a priority profession.

2. British Columbia

On October 8, the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program invited more than 173 candidates through the Skilled Worker International Graduate stream.

The minimum cut-off varied according to industry. The breakdown can be seen below:

Draw Type Minimum Score  Number Of Invitations
Childcare  83 44
Construction  89 25
Healthcare  99 21
Tech  116 83

3. Manitoba

Three provinces in Canada issued ITAs to candidates, out of which Manitoba was the last.

On October 10, the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program held three draws.

The first draw took place under an occupation-specific selection for candidates in the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream. The draw issued 82 invitations to individuals who had completed post-secondary study in the province. The cut-off score for the draw was 845 points.

On the same day, the province invited 114 candidates under the International Education stream.

Finally, MPNP held a draw under the Skilled Worker Overseas stream and invited 38 individuals with a minimum score of 711. Candidates needed to be invited by the MPNP under a ‘Strategic Recruitment Initiative’ to be considered for this draw.
