The Provincial Nominee Program held the invitation draws last week. Now, British Columbia has declared the results.
British Columbia generally conducts invitation draws every week, meaning PNP draws have a high-frequency rate in Canada.
British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) conducted its latest invitation round on June 7.
A total of 141 candidates were sent invitations to apply for provincial nominations which is comparatively less than the 167 invitations issued on May 31.
To gain eligibility for British Columbia’s provincial nomination, Candidates are supposed to qualify the eligibility requirements of either British Columbia’s express Entry BC or the Skilled Immigration categories. The Skills and Immigration Registration System (SIRS) successfully manages these two categories.
Scoring between 60 to 85- Minimum requirement
Candidates receiving the invitations under this draw were categorized as Skilled Worker, International Graduate, and Entry Level and Semi-Skilled. The candidates were required to attain 60 to 85, a minimum score of provinces, based on the different streams.
British Columbia continues to hold invitation rounds regularly to meet the demand for specific occupations concerning the different sectors of the economy. Provinces need to meet the ever-rising labor needs.
The province sent invitations to the following categories:
- 125 Tech occupations- minimum score of 85.
- (NOC- 4214) 16 early childhood educators- minimum score of 60.
- Healthcare occupations below 5- minimum score of 60.
Provincial Nominee Program
Provinces and territories in Canada have their own set of PNPs. Exceptional to this are provinces- Quebec and Nunavut).
Provincial Nomination isn’t the same as permanent residency, yet it can lead to a higher chance of acquiring permanent residency status from Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
Candidates can gain permanent residency in Canada through the availability of 80 PNPs. They can either directly apply to the province or create an Express Entry profile.
Once the candidates create an Express Entry profile, they might receive a provincial nomination. This will also provide 600 points under the CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) score. With a superior CRS score, there are higher chances of receiving an invitation to apply (ITA). This further enhances their eligibility for receiving invitation rounds for specific PNPs.
According to the recent Express Entry Draw that was held on June 8, there were about 932 invitations sent to the PNP candidates with a minimum CRS score of 796. Since March 2, this was recorded to be the largest draw with Canada inviting 1,047 PNP candidates.
