Two Canadian provinces held Provincial Nominee Program Draws. In addition, applicants were invited via Provincial Nominee Programs, which are economic immigration programs that select individuals based on their skills and experience to fill in-demand positions within provincial labor markets. Read on for the complete breakdown.

Provincial Immigration Results: July 27th To August 2nd

Two Canadian provinces held Provincial Nominee Program Draws. Here are the results for the same.

1. British Columbia

British Columbia held a targeted draw through the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program this week.

Moreover, the province invited a minimum of 147 applicants via the Skilled Worker, International Graduate (includes EEBC option) stream. In addition, applicants were chosen for their education and ability to fill gaps in British Columbia’s labor market.

Cut-off scores varied between industries targeted within the draw. Therefore, these were as follows:

  • Childcare: A Minimum score of 89 was required (33 invites issued)
  • Construction: A Minimum score of 90 was required (27 invites issued)
  • Healthcare: A Minimum score of 101 was required (22 invites issued)
  • Tech Workers: A Minimum score of 120 was needed (64 invites issued)
  • Veterinary Care: A Minimum score of 80 was needed (at least one invite issued)

The Skilled Worker category is designed for international workers with post-secondary education or training and relevant experience in the province’s professional, technical, management, trade, or other skilled professions. Moreover, the applicant’s job should be classified under the NOC Training, Education, Experience, and Experience matrix as skill level 0, 1, or 2.

Furthermore, applicants applying under the Skilled Worker category need a full-time permanent job/ employment offer from a British Columbia employer in a skilled profession. Also, if the employment offer is in a regulated profession requiring mandatory certification or licensing, applicants must prove they meet the provincial requirements for that profession at the time of their application. In addition, paid co-op work placements are accepted as work experience if they are full-time and at a NOC level equal to or greater than that of the job offer.

2. Manitoba

Two Canadian provinces held Provincial Nominee Program draws, out of which Manitoba was the second.

Also, this week, the Manitoba PNP held two immigration draws for skilled workers.

The first draw occurred under an occupation-specific selection under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream. Moreover, the draw issued 145 invitations to individuals whose NOC corresponded to 44101 – Home Support workers, caregivers and related professions, or who fit under the broad profession category ‘3’ (healthcare profession).

In addition, the MPNP held another draw under the Skilled Worker Overseas stream on the same day. Under this stream, 58 invitations were issued to applicants with a minimum score of 724. Furthermore, applicants need to be invited by the MPNP under a ‘Strategic Recruitment Initiative’ to be considered in this draw.

Also, of the 203 invitations issued by the MPNP this week, 29 were issued to individuals who declared a valid Express Entry profile.
