Two Provinces In Canada Nominate PNP Candidates

Two provinces in Canada nominate PNP candidates. Candidates were selected depending on their professional experience, employment, language abilities, etc.

Provincial Immigration Results: From August 31 To September 6

Two provinces in Canada nominate PNP candidates. Here are the results for the same.

1. Ontario

On September 5, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program held a draw via the French-Speaking Skilled Workers stream. The province issued around 96 Notifications of Interest (NOIs) to candidates with a CRS, i.e., Comprehensive Ranking System score between 290 and 393.

Moreover, the French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream is for French-speaking skilled workers who wish to settle in the province. In order to be eligible, candidates should qualify for the federal Express Entry pool through the FSWP, i.e., Federal Skilled Worker Program or Canadian Experience Class.

Also, they must meet specific work experience and language proficiency requirements, hold a recognized degree, intend to reside in Ontario and showcase sufficient settlement funds. Furthermore, candidates cannot directly apply and should have obtained a Notification of Interest Ontario in order to proceed with their permanent residency application to IRCC.

2. British Columbia

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program held two provincial nominee draws on September 4 via various different streams.

The first draw was general selection across the Skilled Worker, International Graduate, Entry-Level, and Semi-Skilled streams. Over 75 invitations were issued to candidates with a minimum score of 128, with the exception of the Entry and semi-skilled streams, which needed a minimum score of 110.

Furthermore, the second draw was a targeted selection for candidates with work experience in key sectors of the British Columbia economy via the Skilled Worker and International Graduate streams. The breakdown of this draw is listed below:

  • Childcare Professions: 31 applicants with a minimum score of 83
  • Childcare Professions: 33 applicants with a minimum score of 89
  • Childcare Professions: 19 applicants with a minimum score of 99
  • Childcare Professions: At least one applicant with a minimum score of 80

Closure Of The Saskatchewan Hard-To-Fill Skills Pilot

Effective August 30, 2024, the Hard-to-Fill Skills Pilot under the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) has been permanently closed. No new applications or job approval forms will be accepted after this date. However, any applications submitted with a valid Candidate-Specific Job Approval Letter will still be processed to completion.

The closure will streamline immigration pathways and enhance settlement outcomes. Moreover, other program categories under the SINP stay open. In addition, alternative pathways are also available for prospective candidates.

Also, the SINP will host information sessions on alternative options on September 6 and 11, 2024. Further assistance and details on this change are available via email or the SINP’s contact channels.
