Yukon Issues Invitations For 2025 PR Nominations Intake

Yukon issues invitations for 2025 PR nominations intake, i.e., the Yukon Nominee Program (YNP) has officially started issuing invitations for its 2025 permanent residency intake. On May 23, the territory confirmed that it had received more qualified submissions than the number of nomination spots allocated for the year.

According to the territory’s press release, during the most recent intake window, YNP received over 502 eligible submissions. Out of these, 392 applications matched Yukon’s nomination priorities for 2025.

In line with trends seen across other Canadian provinces and territories, Yukon’s nomination allocation was cut in half at the beginning of 2025. This reduction limits Yukon to just 215 nomination spaces for the calendar year.

Who Is Most Likely To Receive A YNP Nomination?

The YNP has confirmed that priority will be given to candidates who were previously issued a temporary measure letter of support. This type of work permit was created for foreign workers currently residing in Yukon whose employers intend to nominate them for permanent residence through the YNP in either 2025 or 2026. These permits are valid for up to two years.

Once those with letters of support are prioritized, the remaining nomination spaces will be filled through a randomized draw from the pool of qualifying candidates.

Qualifying applications are those submitted by:

  • Foreign workers who have lived and worked in Yukon for at least one year
  • Graduates of Yukon University
  • Francophone or French-speaking candidates
  • Candidates holding a letter of support

Key Program Changes Introduced For 2025

Yukon issues invitations for 2025 PR nominations intake. With the launch of 2025 intake, Yukon transitioned to a new EOI system for handling PR nominations under the YNP.

Under this updated process, employers must complete a web form providing information about the foreign national they wish to support for nomination. The YNP then assesses these EOIs and issues notifications to employers whose submissions are selected during the intake window.

As of May 2025, the Yukon government began sending invitations to selected employers, along with instructions on submitting full applications.

The YNP will also reach out to:

  • Employers not selected in the first round but included in the random selection pool
  • Employers whose EOIs were determined to be ineligible

The EOI system was introduced earlier this year to help Yukon better manage high demand for limited nomination spots. Previously, the YNP accepted applications on a first-come, first-served basis. This often overwhelmed the system and left many eligible candidates without a fair chance.

By focusing on priority-based selection, the new EOI approach enables Yukon to align nominations more closely with its economic and regional needs for 2025.

The reduction in nomination spaces reflects federal immigration changes introduced in the 2025–2027 Immigration Levels Plan. The plan notably cuts Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) targets by 50%.
