About The Francophone Community Immigration Pilot

The Francophone Community Immigration Pilot (FCIP) started in 2025. It aims to attract French-speaking immigrants to communities outside Quebec.

This program is led by employers. This means a valid job offer from a designated employer is required.

After giving a job offer, the employer can recommend the candidate to the community. If approved, the candidate receives a recommendation certificate and can apply for permanent residence through IRCC.

To qualify, applicants must also meet the following requirements:

  • Language Proficiency: Minimum NCLC level 5 in all four skills
  • Work Experience: At least 1,560 hours (one year) of related work in the past three years
  • Education: At least a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Settlement Funds: Proof of funds based on family size (not required for those already working in Canada)

Eligible applicants can also apply for a special two-year work permit. This allows them to start working in Canada while their PR application is being processed.

These updates show how Ontario regions are adjusting their job lists to meet local needs. At the same time, they continue to support French-speaking immigrants in building a future in Canada.
