The Alberta Opportunity Stream applies to skilled workers currently residing in Alberta and international graduates who have acquired education at an authorized post-secondary institution in Alberta.
The Atlantic Advanced Immigration Program demands that its student applicants prove that they have the essential skills and experience to meet the labor demands of Alberta. This applies to those seeking to apply for the Alberta Opportunity Stream.
Next, Express Entry candidates with a score of 300 under the Comprehensive Ranking System can opt for the Alberta General Express Entry Stream.
Additionally, candidates must be from an occupation that aligns with Alberta’s economic development. Supposedly, if Alberta nominates a candidate, then they will receive additional CRS points equal to 600. Getting these extra points will enable them to receive an invitation to apply for PR in the subsequent Express Entry Draw.
The Alberta Accelerated Tech Pathway is an immigration option that aligns with the Express Entry system. This pathway applies to individuals currently working in the technology industry of Alberta or those who already possess a job offer in this industry. However, the job offer must be related to Alberta’s list of 38 eligible occupations.
The Rural Renewal Stream is specifically meant to combat the existing labor market needs and skill shortages in Alberta. The main objective of this stream is community growth and fulfilling economic needs. This stream focuses on candidates having an employment offer in Alberta’s rural community under an Alberta employer.
Alberta Advantage Immigration Program streams for Entrepreneurs
Based on their individual circumstances, individuals must first analyze whether they fit the eligibility criteria of the stream. Enhanced streams fall under the category of the federal Express Entry system. The Express Entry candidates who pursue immigration to Alberta might receive a Notification of Interest from the Alberta government and respond to it accordingly. In the case of selection, they must proceed to apply via the AAIP portal. Moreover, Alberta comprises only two enhanced streams, including the Alberta Express Entry and Alberta Accelerated Tech Pathway. Currently, all other available streams in this province are base streams. To get started with any one of these immigration streams, candidates must go ahead with an Expression of Interest via Alberta’s AAIP portal. They must not wait for selection under Express Entry.
