Canada to increase immigration to more than 1.2 million

According to the immigration extent plan by Marco Mendicino, Ottawa will determine to increase immigration in Canada, estimated in the year 2021, 401,000 new permanent residents and in 2023, it will increase up to 421,000.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, 2020, was not good for immigrants, which reduced the immigration level, so they changed their plan to set new targets of 351,000 permanent residents in 2021 and 361,000 in 2022.

They will make sure that newcomers will boost the recovery of the economy of Canada. Almost 60 percent of new arrivals will be of economic class, the next largest group belongs to the family class. There will majority of refugees in this class.

Mendicino said that Immigration is very necessary to overcome the stress due to the pandemic, and it is necessary for the recovery of the economy and also to increase our economic growth. All Canadians have witnessed how the immigrants have provided help in hospitals and care homes.

Newcomers have provided their skills and services to create new jobs and also start their own businesses to create jobs.

The plan will be to recover the labor shortages due to the pandemic and to grow the population to keep the economy competitive among other countries.

Canada’s Economic Immigration Levels Plan.

The Canadian government wants to increase the number of newcomers through Canada’s Economic Class, which enters here through the Express Entry system. 

Immigrants with federal high skills, welcome through Express Entry Program – will be number 113,750 up to 2023. 

Notice a boost in immigration through the Provincial Nominee Program, with a plan to increase newcomers by 80,800 in 2021 and 83,000 in 2023. 

Canada’s Family Class Immigration Levels Plan. 

According to the plan, Family Class is projected to increase to about 103,500 in 2021 and 104,500 by 2023. Canada also plans a surge in Family Class immigration in the upcoming three years.

Canada’s Plan on Refugee and Protected Persons Class Immigration Levels. 

According to the plan, Refugees and Protected Persons will grow by 59,500 in 2021 and increase up to 61,000 by 2023. 

This growth of Refugees and Protected Persons will certainly help to lead the Canadian economy. 

The Canadian government wants to increase immigration to recover from economic stress and boost economic growth. According to 2021-2023, the Immigration Levels Plan is to increase 400,000 permanent residents and 60% newcomers from the Economic Class.

They are determined to bring most of the newcomers under FSWP and FSTP programs. They also prefer the new entries from the Canadian Experience Class and Self-Employed Persons program. The majority of Indian people are interested in taking up permanent residency in Canada. They introduce all these immigration Programs to attract entrepreneurs as well as high-skilled workers. The uncertainty of the H-1B program as well as the stretched waiting duration for obtaining a US green card can also impact how many people come to Canada, say some experts on Canadian immigration.

Canada’s Immigration Minister Ahmed Hussein said that the immigration level plan of the Federal government to increase immigration in Canada will be supported by $440 million to ensure the success of this program and to increase new targets of immigration under the three-year plan are projected to cost $440 million over the next three years.
