Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is providing new opportunities for those workers who are already working in Canada by introducing six new immigration programs. It will be beneficial for more than 90,000 workers especially for those workers who are working in hospitals and care centers. International graduate students are also included in these Immigration programs.

Those programs are beneficial for those people also who are willing to be permanent residents in Canada. They can apply for the same by May 6 for these programs. three programs out of six are targeting to have French-speaking candidates. You can apply to live in Ottawa which will be accepting applications upto November 5th or upto received maximum applications.

IRCC will accept the applications of the following categories of people:

  1. IRCC will accept around 20,000 applications for those candidates who are working in healthcare centers and hospitals on a temporary basis.
  2. IRCC will accept around 30,000 applications for those temporary workers who are working in other selected essential jobs.
  3. IRCC will accept almost 40,000 applications from international students who have completed their graduation from the institutions of Canada.

Those applicants who are interested in applying in a temporary foreign worker program, are required to have a minimum of one year of work experience in Canada, in the healthcare sector or in any other essential occupation. The graduate candidates are required to complete their graduation from a Canadian college or any other educational institution in the last four years.

International Graduate Stream

IRCC will accept around 40,000 applications. The eligibility requirements  for this stream are as follows:

1  You must complete your graduation before applying or upto  January 2017 and join a study program from the Designated Learning Institutions DLIs such as you have to complete your post-secondary education from a public post-secondary institution such as a college or technical school and university. 

International Graduate Streams

If you are studying in a Canadian private institution that must be authorized by provincial rules to provide you credentials under the provincial rules and if the study program was completed as a degree and also authorized by the province law and may not add all the programs of study.

Privately owned post-secondary level educational institutions in Quebec have to adhere to the same regulations and rules as the public educational institutions are working in Quebec.

Post-secondary institutions of the private and public sector in Quebec also provide certified programs of 900 hours or more and give certificates or diplomas of vocational studies to their students or provide an attestation of vocational specialization AVS.

2) You must have the following certificates from an eligible institution:

  • You must have gained a degree of Associate, a Bachelor’s degree, a Master’s degree or even a Doctorate through a program of at least 8 months.
  • You require a degree or diploma or certificate, or attestation after completing a program of any time duration in a skilled occupation.
  • You need to follow some conditions while having one or more diploma/certificate/attestation
  • You need to have a certificate or diploma by completing a minimum and combined duration of 16 months.
  • For the vocational or trade credential you must complete each program of a minimum of 900 hours and in combined programs, it must be 1,800 hours of time.

When you are willing to combine one AVS with one DVS, the duration of the AVS can be less than 900 hours but if you are combining both then the time duration will be a minimum of 1,800 hours.

3) You must be employed in Canada having a status that is valid at the time of applying.

4) You must have a benchmark 5 in language abilities in either of the two official languages. You must follow the disciplines set in the Canadian Language Benchmark. 

5) You must have valid temporary status while living in Canada and need to be present physically at the time of application.

6) You are willing to live towards the outer side of Quebec.
