Manitoba sent invites to Express Entry Candidates and Foreign Skilled Workers

On the 19th of April, Manitoba conducted an irregular draw.

Manitoba has the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). The provinces sent invites to 399 applicants considering their eligibility for Skilled Workers Overseas Program.

In general, the province conducts three Provincial Nominee program-specific draws in a single attempt. And after draws, they send invites to a few candidates from Express Entry. The recent draw excluded skilled workers in the province and International Education stream applicants.

Furthermore, Manitoba had different Expression of Interest (EOI) score requirements. That depended on whether the candidate is from the Express Entry pool or falls under strategic recruitment plans.

In the recent draw by Manitoba, 30 applicants received an invite with an EOI score of 703 and 369 applicants with a 708 score. Both groups were sent the invites under a strategic recruitment plan.

For the Express Entry pool, the individuals can only receive the invite if their profile is valid at the time of verification by MPNP. Once the applicants receive the Letter of Advice to Apply (LAA), they have 60 days to request the nomination by Manitoba.

Immigration Programs in Manitoba

Manitoba has several programs to attract new immigrants and help them settle there. The local government handles immigration through MPNP. The provinces do not have the authority to offer permanent residence (PR), but they can help applicants by giving away provincial nominations.

If any individual is interested in getting a nomination from Manitoba, there are a couple of things to keep in mind. The applicant will register an Expression of Interest along with the MPNP. That will give you the opportunity to receive an LAA either through Skilled Workers in Manitoba or Skilled Workers Overseas programs.

Once you register, the province will give you specific points out of 1000 depending on your connection to the region and human capital factor. Based on points, they provide rankings for the applicants.

The Skilled Workers Overseas and Skilled Workers in Manitoba programs support the labor need of the province.

Foreign applicants will have to show a connection to the province. That can be through the likes of family bonds or previous experience in Manitoba. If you have received an invite through one of the province’s strategic recruitment plans, you can show that to establish a connection. Also, it is unnecessary to be in the region while applying; that has nothing to do with your eligibility.

For Skilled Workers in Manitoba aspirants, there should be a full-time job offer to receive the invite. Also, the job offer should be from a provincial employer.

International students should have completed their education in the province and will have to demonstrate that they possess in-demand skills and abilities. They can receive invites under the International Education program.

Manitoba invites Express Entry candidates.

The primary pathway to Canada for skilled workers is Express Entry. People directly get the PR invite without going through PNP processes. However, if you get a nomination from a province, that increases your chances of getting the PR invite.

Express Entry is a management system for Canadian immigration’s federal programs. When you enter your demographics while creating a profile, the system gives you a score basis on the data that you have provided. The score is known as the Comprehensive Ranking System.

Applicants who score the highest receive the invite for PR early than the rest.

If you happen to get a nomination from any province such as Manitoba, then you earn additional 600 points. That factor effectively guarantees your chance of getting an invite.
