Ontario held a PNP-specific draw on 27th July. The province invited applicants with work experience in any occupations listed in the National Occupational Classification (NOC) list.
The invitations were sent to 1,031 applicants. All the invited applicants had a profile on the Express Entry platform. Also, the threshold for CRS was kept between 458 and 467. CRS stands for Comprehensive Ranking System.
The invited applicants received the ITA under Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program as they may have the eligibility for Express Entry Human Capital Priorities Stream (HCP). The mentioned stream is a part of the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) that helps settle them in Ontario.
The province selected only those applicants who had prior experience in one of the 18 occupations listed below:
- NOC 0114 – Other administrative services managers
- NOC 0122 – Banking, credit, and other investment managers

Express Entry.
Express Entry is a platform used by the Canadian immigration dept to store and process applicant’s data. The platform receives applications through the main three federal immigration streams:
- The Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
- The Federal Skilled Workers Program (FSWP)
- The Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
Applicants are not mandated to apply through PNP. They can request PR using the Express Entry stream. However, getting a provincial nomination maximizes the chance of getting an ITA. That happens because added 600 points are rewarded to applicants with a nomination.
After submission of the profile, applicants are given a ranking as per their points. The points are decided by the system based on the demographic details updated by the applicant. The immigration dept conducts periodic draws, and the aspirants with the highest-ranking are then given an ITA.
Since COVID started, IRCC has been holding draws only for PNP applicants. Applicants would need a nomination under any PNP to get an invite and apply for PR.
