Every Canadian province is given a fixed amount of provincial nominations to assist permanent residency petitions in a year. The allotment for 2021 in Ontario was just published.
The federal government has given Ontario permission to issue 8,350 nominations and another 250 for temporary workers in professions with a skill level of C in the National Occupational Classification (NOC). In most cases, these vocations necessitate a high school diploma or specific job training.
In comparison, despite restricted borders and other COVID-caused delays, Ontario gave the nomination to 8,054 primary applicants last year. In 2019, Ontario offered 7,391 nominations. The same year, Vic Fedeli, Ontario’s Immigration Minister, petitioned the federal govt for a 13,300 nominations quota by 2022.
2021 is shaping up to be a watershed moment for the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). For programs in the Employer Job Offer Category, the OINP implemented an Expression of Interest (EOI) mechanism in 2021. This implies that applicants can file anytime for an opportunity to be nominated by a province through its Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP). And such programs do not use the Express Entry system to choose applicants.
Immigrate to Ontario under the PNP.
The province of Ontario is by far the most favoured destination for newcomers. As a result, there are a variety of immigration options available to persons who desire to move to Ontario.
PNPs were added to help provinces to assist the financial requirements of their respective regions. As a result, many PNP applicants prosper in Ontario’s labour market, securing jobs during the first year of their arrival. According to Statistics Canada, PNP applicants perform well in part since many of them have earlier experience in the country.
Your circumstances will determine which immigration program is appropriate for you. Some Ontario PNPs, such as the Human Capital Priorities Stream, allow applicants to apply without ever visiting Canada. Others, such as the Master Graduate stream, need you to also have an offer of employment or at least local schooling.
PNPs are divided into two groups. Employer Job Offer Category and other base PNPs act autonomously within the region. Applicants who have uploaded profiles to the Express Entry system are invited to Improved PNPs, such as the Ontario Express Entry Streams.
PR is not guaranteed after getting a nomination. However, it may be able to help you with your applications. Just the federal government holds the power to make judgement calls on newcomers’ cases.
Ontario and Express Entry
To move to Ontario, individuals do not have to apply for a PNP. Anyone can apply to the federal government straight using the Express Entry system. It was created to enable Canada to pick excellent applicants to become permanent citizens and succeed in the labour market by expediting immigration applications.
Applicants must be eligible for one of the three Federal High Skilled programs to apply through Express Entry: the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Canadian Experience Class, or the Federal Skilled Trades Program.
Individuals will be given a score based on their age, professional job experience, schooling, language skills, and other characteristics after they register their accounts in the group and submit all of their documentation.
Via regular Express Entry lotteries, the highest-scoring individuals are invited to request PR.
