Three Provinces In Canada Invite Candidates In Latest PNP Draws

Three provinces in Canada invite candidates in latest PNP draws. Immigration is a shared responsibility between IRCC & the provincial governments. Except Quebec and Nunavut, every territory and province run their own PNPs. Quebec has an individual agreement with the federal government that allows for total autonomy over the selection of its economic newcomers/ immigrants.

Every government receives an allocation of nominations and distributes them to economic immigration candidates. The number of nominations IRCC allocates depends on numerous factors such as the province’s population and needs of the workforce. For instance, Ontario, which has the largest population in Canada, is allocated the most number of nominations.

As per the Immigration Levels Plan for 2024-206, IRCC will be welcoming 110,000 new permanent residents through the PNP this year.

Obtaining a nomination from a provincial government is not the same as getting an invitation to apply for permanent residency from IRCC. They are two different programs that need to be applied for individually.
