Two Canadian Provinces Have Issued Invitations In April Draws

Two Canadian provinces have issued invitations in April draws. Newfoundland and Labrador has issued its first round of invitations to candidates through its newly-launched Expression of Interest (EOI) system.

The province transitioned to an online EOI system in February 2025.

New Brunswick also conducted several draws, inviting candidates working in high-demand sectors.

Details for both provinces are provided below.

Provincial Immigration Results (6 April to 12 April)

Two Canadian provinces have issued invitations in April draws. Below are the results for the same. Take a look!

Newfoundland and Labrador

On April 8, Newfoundland and Labrador issued its first-ever invitations to candidates who submitted EOIs.

The province invited 256 candidates across the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP) and the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP):

Program Number of invitations
Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program 206
Atlantic Immigration Program 50
Total 256

Candidates selected under the NLPNP can now apply for nomination, while AIP candidates can pursue employer endorsements.

This round targeted foreign nationals with full-time job offers in in-demand sectors. Priority was given to individuals already residing in Newfoundland and Labrador and those with offers in rural and remote areas.

Graduates from post-secondary institutions located within the province were also favored.

Through the new EOI system, candidates must first submit an Expression of Interest, which the province reviews. Only selected candidates are invited to apply for nomination or endorsement.

In its press release, the province emphasized the system offers a “streamlined economic immigration process that aligns with Newfoundland and Labrador’s evolving labour market needs and reduced immigration capacity due to federal limits on application spaces.”

Previously, foreign nationals could apply directly to provincial permanent residency pathways before the EOI pool was introduced.

New Brunswick

The New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP) held several draws throughout the week.

On April 7–8, the NBPNP invited 432 candidates under the following streams:

  • NB Skilled Worker Stream – New Brunswick Experience
  • NB Skilled Worker Stream – New Brunswick Graduates

The province targeted individuals working in:

  • Construction Trades
  • Education and Social & Community Services
  • Healthcare

Additionally, candidates with work permits expiring in 2025 were targeted in the following fields:

  • Agriculture, Aquaculture, and Forestry
  • IT
  • Manufacturing
  • Professional Occupations
  • Transportation

Note that Professional Occupations were restricted to those under NOC codes at the 1000- and 2000-levels within TEER categories 0, 1, and 2.

On April 9, the NBPNP issued 45 invitations under the NB Express Entry Stream – Employment in New Brunswick.

To qualify, candidates needed to have completed 12 months of full-time work with a New Brunswick employer.

This draw also focused on candidates in specific occupations, including:

  • Construction Trades
  • Education and Social & Community Services
  • Healthcare
