Newfoundland and Labrador holds a new immigration draw, i.e., on June 10, the province held its seventh immigration draw of 2026. A total of 108 invitations were issued through the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP) and the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP).
This was the first immigration draw conducted by the Newfoundland and Labrador Office of Immigration and Multiculturalism (OIM) in June.
Draw Details
Of the 108 invitations issued, most were sent to candidates under the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program. This continues a trend that has been seen throughout the province’s draws in 2026, with the majority of invitations regularly going to NLPNP candidates.
| Program | Invitations Issued |
| NLPNP | 89 |
| AIP | 19 |
The OIM did not provide details about which NLPNP streams were included in the draw. It also did not share information about the occupations, industries, or sectors that may have been targeted.
Although invitation numbers have generally declined throughout 2026, the June 10 draw showed a small increase compared to the previous selection round.
The table below compares the June 10 draw with earlier draws held by Newfoundland and Labrador this year.
| Date Of Draw | Invitations Issued | Invitations Issued By Program |
| March 6, 2026 | 445 | NLPNP: 362 AIP: 83 |

As of June 10, the province has issued 1,487 invitations through the NLPNP and AIP combined. Most of these invitations have gone to NLPNP candidates, accounting for 83.8% of all invitations issued so far this year.
How Candidates Can Be Considered?
Foreign nationals interested in immigrating through the NLPNP or the Atlantic Immigration Program must first submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to Newfoundland and Labrador.
A valid job offer from an employer in the province is required before an EOI can be submitted under most streams. The main exception is for candidates applying through entrepreneur-focused streams under the NLPNP.
The EOI includes details about a candidate’s work experience, occupation, education, language ability, and plans to settle in Newfoundland and Labrador.
After submission, the OIM reviews the profiles. Candidates selected in a draw receive an invitation and must respond within 60 days by submitting a complete application for provincial nomination or endorsement.
For the Atlantic Immigration Program, the employer submits the endorsement application. Under the NLPNP, the candidate submits the application directly.
EOIs remain valid for 12 months. Candidates who are not selected before their profile expires must create and submit a new EOI if they wish to continue being considered.
The province may give priority to certain candidates. These can include healthcare workers, individuals employed outside larger cities, candidates with strong long-term settlement potential, and graduates of local post-secondary institutions.
Once candidates receive a provincial nomination certificate or an AIP endorsement, they can apply to the federal government for permanent residence. The federal government then reviews the application and makes the final decision.
Current application timelines are about 13 months through the base PNP, six months through the enhanced PNP, and 26 months through the Atlantic Immigration Program.
